Last year, Mr Egan told Ryan Tubridy on RTE Radio of his love of a quiet life away from the celebrity circuit.
Jodi added in the same interview: "As I got older and we had children I just really wanted to be part of a community and I want my children to feel like they're part of a community." She went on to say that she furthermore wanted her children "to belong somewhere, so if they travel the world they know where home is".
