Every so often, Netflix releases a sub-par rom-com that somehow inspires you to change your life.
The streaming service has won viewers over with the new film The Life List.
The movie landed on the streaming service this month, and everyone is saying the same thing about it.
The Life List follows a woman as she revisits her childhood aspirations, endeavoring to achieve her old goals, only to discover that pursuing these lifelong dreams takes her on an unforeseen and surprising journey.
Fans of the movie have been praising it, with many saying it has changed the way they think about life.
One wrote: "If you’re struggling with self-discovery, The Life List on Netflix is a must-watch. This movie feels like a warm pat on the back, a reassuring sign, a comforting hug, and a reminder that it’s okay to give life a second chance and live intentionally. It’s truly life-altering."
the life list is such a beautiful movie, it’s a treasure. i cried eight minutes in (i cry at everything but this movie will get to you no matter how hard your shell is). i loved seeing connie in a role like that – she shines in this film. pic.twitter.com/otIxZCT3YQ
Another said, "Everyone told me this is a rom-com, but nobody told me I’d be crying for 2 hours rethinking my life choices. The Life List has my heart."
"The Life List (Netflix) is such a beautiful movie, I’m literally crying tears," another said.
"I wasn't expecting the movie to hit as hard as it did."
I listened to the hype and popped the movie on over the Easter weekend. My expectations were low; I knew it wasn't an Oscar winner, but I wasn't expecting the movie to hit as hard as it did.
There was something so emotional about watching Alex complete the list of goals her mum hoped she would achieve. Before she passed away, Alex's mum realised her daughter wasn't living her life to the fullest.
She had settled, she had given up, and she knew her daughter wasn't happy.
After passing away from cancer, her mum left her the list and told her it was her wish to complete it.
Some of the things on the list were minor, like doing stand-up or getting a tattoo, but there were other things on there that changed Alex's life for the better like finding true love and following her dream career.
The film reminded me that we do only have one chance at the life we're given, so we really should live it to the fullest.
As Alex's mum helped her see, settling really isn't the answer.
