Take Me Out has been bringing singles together onscreen since 2010 and host Paddy McGuinness wants to shake things up a little.

The hit ITV dating show is currently on its seventh series and in an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show, which is due to air tomorrow night, McGuinness revealed that he has asked for a Gay version of the programme.

“I have asked about a gay version. We have done an OAP special and a celebrity special,” he told host Ross.

“I have also asked about a reality TV special,” he continued, “it is in the mix. It is up to the powers that be.”

The 41-year-old spoke about the show’s matchmaking skills and just how successful dates at mysterious Isle of Fernando’s have been.

“We have had two weddings, we have four engagements and two children born from the show. We have only been on five years”.

“We had one guy on recently and one girl was his ex. It was awkward. He was Nick and his ex was called Looci. He didn’t say anything until round two.

“He was so terrified, he froze. He picked his ex for the date. We had to edit a lot out as people were crying. I even shed a tear – and I’m from Bolton.”
