Conversations with Friends has sold over one million copies worldwide, and we personally believe it's as good as her novel Normal People. There's something about Sally Rooney's unique characters that completely draws you in.
Her books make incredibly strong TV series, proven by the wild success of Normal People, and the same goes for Conversations with Friends, which has just been added to Netflix.
The show may not have gotten as much attention when it first aired in 2022, but Netflix users have been raving about it.
The 12-part series follows Trinity students and best friends Frances and Bobbi, whose relationship changes when they meet married couple Nick and Melissa.
Wuthering Heights star Alison Oliver plays Frances in this addictive drama series. Conversations with Friends also stars Sasha Lane as Bobbi Connolly, Joe Alwyn as Nick Conway, and Jemima Kirke as Melissa Baines.
Viewers have been praising the show, with many saying they've binge-watched the series in one sitting.
One wrote, "I think the TV adaptation really elevates the book. I absolutely hated the characters in the book but when I saw the adaptation and how relatable the characters were, I revisited the text."
Another added, "Very engaging and original. Zero cliches, good acting, excellent chemistry. A very particular view of life to make you think. An unexpected little jewel. I love the way they represented introverted people."

Conversations with Friends is available on Netflix now.
Frances is twenty-one years old, cool-headed, and observant. At night, she performs spoken word with her best friend Bobbi, who used to be her girlfriend. When they are befriended by Melissa, a well-known journalist who is married to Nick, an actor, they enter a world of beautiful houses, raucous dinner parties, and holidays in Provence, beginning a complex ménage-à-quatre. But when Frances and Nick get unexpectedly closer, Frances is forced to honestly confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time.
