mindhunter season two

‘History. Pattern. Profile.’

Mindhunter is back on Netflix, so if an insight into the mind of serial killers and moody lighting is your thing, you my friend are in for a treat.

The eagerly anticipated second season of the thriller landed onto streaming platforms today (Friday, August 16), delighting audiences everywhere who had been patiently awaiting another fix of Holden, Bill, and all the rest of them.

Season two focuses on the pair meeting infamous murderer and cult leader, Charles Manson.

After setting up a commune in California, Manson’s followers committed a series of nine murders at four locations in July and August 1969.

In 1971, he was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of seven people, all of which members of the group carried out at his instruction.

Manson was also convicted of first-degree murder for two other deaths. He died at the age of 83 in prison.

The official summary for Mindhunter season two reads:

“FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench probe further into the psyches of those who have done the unthinkable.

“With help from psychologist Wendy Carr, they apply their groundbreaking behavioural analysis to hunting notorious serial killers.”

Sounds like it’ll be a decent watch this one.

Season one of the series got a mostly positive reaction from critics, with a certified fresh Rotten Tomatoes rating of 97 percent.

Starring Jonathan Groff, Anna Torv, and Holt McCallany, it’s looking fairly likely that season two is going to be just as deliciously dark.

So cancel your Friday night plans, get the Chromecast on, and enjoy nine episodes of delving deep into the mind of the serial killer.

You deserve it.

Mindhunter is now streaming on Netflix.
