It’s been no surprise that Simon Cowell is planning a serious shake-up to the X-Factor this season, with the music mogul signing up vlogger Zoella to take over as the presenter of The Xtra Factor.
Taking over the reigns from Sarah-Jane Crawford, show bosses hope that youth vlogger Zoella will help bring fresh energy and enthusiasm to the show.
Zoella – real name Zoe Sugg – has already gathered a huge fan base, with more than eight million subscribers following her YouTube channel.
According to The Sun newspaper, a source revealed Simon is hoping the 25-year old will bring a new following to the flagging show:
“There is serious interest in Zoella and Simon is keen to hear how she developed such a huge online following with young people.
“Simon wants ideas that are different and is really thinking outside the box when it comes to shaking up the show.”
Irish celebrity presenter Brian Dowling has also been tipped for the role, although bookies believe Simon could bring back original presenter Konnie Huq for the next series.
