On the Heart Radio programme, William was asked to update the public about Kate's health, particularly as she had recently completed a work trip to Italy.
“She’s been amazing. She’s been through so much in the last couple of years, particularly. She had been looking forward to the Italian trip a lot, so I’m really glad that it went really well,” he said, and told the hosts that he is “very proud” of his wife.
Kate travelled to Italy for two days in May to complete research for the Royal Centre for Early Childhood. This marked the first time she had travelled overseas since her cancer diagnosis.
“She wanted to go and do lots of research. She spends god knows how much time now looking through all of the paperwork. She’s a proper pro now on early years", Prince William continued.
“Most evenings, I’m fighting to get past all of the paperwork that she’s got in the bedroom, lined up and ready to read. I’m so pleased it went well for her, and she came back buzzing."
William added that he and his kids, 12-year-old George, 11-year-old Charlotte and eight-year-old Louis, wouldn't be able to cope without his wife.
“She’s an amazing mum and an amazing wife, and literally our family couldn’t cope without her. She’s been absolutely stunning."
“She is edging herself back into doing more of those trips. Away trips like that take a lot out of you because you’re on permanent receive the whole time, so we have to balance that and make sure she’s okay and rested.
He finished by confirming that Kate is "in good form" at the moment.
The Princess of Wales announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024. She completed preventative chemotherapy treatment in September of 2024 and confirmed that she was in remission as of January 2025.
