Everyone has different opinions on this topic.

Vicky Pattison has defended Kate and Gerry McCann, parents of missing Madeleine McCann, saying some of the criticism directed at them is “unnecessary”.

Writing in her weekly column for new! magazine, Vicky said:

“It’s hard for me to have an opinion as I’m not a parent but I do feel discussing the issue after what the McCanns have been through is just unnecessary”.

The Geordie Shore star’s comments come after Sharon Osbourne criticised the McCann parents while speaking on her show The Talk recently.

Sharon referred to their decision to leave their sleeping children at home alone as “insane” when speaking about the dangers of leaving children alone.

The X Factor judge later apologised for upsetting people with her comments but said that the McCann case could act as an example where, “other people could learn, you never leave a child alone”.

While Katie Price said she was on Sharon’s side, Vicky has supported the McCanns this week.

“I bet there’s not a day that goes by where they don’t beat themselves up over what happened. Surely nothing Sharon – or anyone else – can say can make them feel any worse.

“I think everyone should just back off!”.

Madeleine McCann disappeared from her bedroom in the holiday apartment she and her family were staying in on the night of 3rd May 2007.

Her parents were dining in a nearby restaurant with friends at the time of her disappearance.

She remains missing nine years on.
