Selena Gomez recently confirmed she can’t carry her own children

Discovering you can’t carry your own children is news we can’t even begin to comprehend, but it’s something Selena Gomez is facing.

The singer and actress recently opened up about her harrowing news, but said she has come to terms with it.

As heartbreaking as it may be, the singer has not lost hope and believes she will become a mum one day.

Gomez told Variety: “I haven’t ever said this but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.”

“I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while,” she added.

As harrowing as the news was for the singer, she knows there are other options for her, but that doesn’t make this any less heartbreaking for her.

Not being able to carry your own children is a huge heartbreak to accept and one she should be able to do in peace.

Unfortunately, Gomez was targeted by horrible trolls following her devastating admission.

During the Women in Film dinner, Gomez opened up about how cruel trolls were after she shared her news.

“I truly believe that there is power in being vulnerable and telling people when you need help or when you want help — that is not shameful.

“I shared that I can’t carry a child. Yeah, I shared that I have bipolar. F**k off. That’s what my life is. That’s who I am. I really want to be an advocate for women, and that’s why I share; that’s why I like to be honest because everybody’s going through something,” she said.

Gomez’s response shows how strong she is despite the overwhelming trolling she has faced

She is remaining positive amongst waves of toxic negativity online, something to be admired.

Gomez knows she’ll be a mum one day and there’s no doubt she’ll be one incredible role model for her child.

“I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.

“It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby,” Gomez said.
