Selena Gomez shared the heartbreaking news in a new interview
Singer and actress Selena Gomez has revealed she cannot carry her own children.
The Rare singer said this is something she hasn’t spoken about before but she has now accepted it.
The Only Murders In The Building star said she cannot carry her own children due to multiple health issues.
She told Vanity Fair: “I haven’t ever said this but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.
“I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while,” Selena said.
Gomez said she always thought she would have children the way everyone else does, but she’s now in a better place.
“I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.
“It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby,” she gushed.
The singer was diagnosed with lupus between 2012 and 2014.
The former Disney star stepped back from the spotlight in September 2017 after undergoing a kidney transplant.

She had received a kidney transplant from her friend Francia Raisa.
However, an artery broke during the transplant and her medical team had to build a new artery using a vein from her leg.
Gomez says she’s currently in good health after taking a little break.
“I’ve been working out. I’ve been taking care of myself. It’s the first time I’ve had a break in a little bit. So I feel good,” she added.
