The former TOWIE star, who recently posed naked for her shoot with Women’s Health Magazine, posted an Instagram message asking people to be more considerate of others, and to look at the facts of making calls on other people’s weight and appearance.
Including a snap from her body confidence feature, the 23-year old posted: “It's been a massive year in the debate on Body Shaming, notably almost all of it happening about women, by women.
The star also addressed accusations of controlling her weight by dieting or starving, adding:
“I'm super proud of my body, it's not achieved by not eating (as some like to accuse) I eat really well every day. It's achieved by hard graft, working out for a tiny percentage of the day 3-5 times a week.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Gemma said:
"To see women being told they are ‘disgusting’ or ‘fat’ is horrifying really. It breaks my heart because these girls have a heart and feelings and insecurities – just like everyone else. How is it OK to knock them down?"
"I’m definitely waging war on body shamers."
