Prince William was forced to miss a memorial service for his late godfather

Prince William has pulled out of a recent royal engagement due to a personal matter sparking major concerns amongst royal fans.

The Prince of Wales was due to attend a memorial service for Constantine II of Greece. William’s godfather passed away in January 2023.

A memorial service was held at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor this morning, but the future king was absent.

Queen Camila attended the event this morning alongside Mike and Zara Tindall, Sarah Ferguson, and Prince Andrew.

Prince William was due to give a reading during the service, but spoke privately with his relatives before pulling out at the last minute.

Kensington Palace confirmed William could not attend the service because of personal reasons, but stressed that his wife, The Princess of Wales was doing well.

Kate is currently recovering from abdominal surgery and has not been seen in public in weeks.

Kensington Palace stressed that she is making good progress with her recovery.

Kate will not likely return to public duties until after the Easter break, but is now recovering at home.

“The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress.

“The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.

“The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world.”

The reason for Kate’s surgery was not disclosed but palace officials stressed that it was not cancer-related.

Officials confirmed that the surgery was planned, but Kate will take some time to recover.
