Model Abbey Clancy has been fired as the face and body of lingerie brand Ultimo, following a row with the company’s owner over a semi-naked photo shoot.
The model, who is married to footballer Peter Crouch, recently posed in just a pair of pants as part of a campaign for Veet but the move allegedly angered Ultimo boss Michelle Mone who disapproved of Clancy posing in underwear for another brand. The 28-year-old took over the job from Michael Buble’s wife Luisana Lopilato in December 2013 and was apparently just two-thirds of the way through her contract when the bust-up occurred.
Ultimo and Clancy confirmed the news by in a statement, saying “each party have decided to terminate the contract due to creative differences” but a source quoted by The Daily Express suggests that relations between the pair remain frosty.
“It has all kicked off between Michelle and Abbey and we’re calling it bra wars. Abbey is only two-thirds of the way through her contract but it is clear the relationship between them has completely broken down,” said a source.
“Michelle was unhappy about the picture of Abbey in her knickers for Veet. But Abbey is adamant she’s done nothing wrong.”
Re:todays reports, unfortunately we had exclusivity issue with Abbey’s mgmt, she’s a great girl.We look forward to releasing her last campaign
