Michelle Keegan explains why she keeps her relationship with Mark Wright private

Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright have been married since 2015

The pair may be famous, but they tend to keep their relationship out of the spotlight.

And Michelle has now explained why she doesn't like to share too much about her marriage.

In an interview with The Guardian, Michelle explained that she grew tired of people discussing their relationship, especially those who knew absolutely nothing about it.

She told the publication: "People openly spoke about our relationship.

"As time progressed, quite negative stories came out. It seemed really damaging, so we came to the conclusion that we should keep our relationship private – just for us.

"As we've become older, it's become more natural for us," she said.

Michelle explained that keeping their relationship out of the public eye has been great for both her and Mark.

She said it has "worked out better" for both of them.

The 'Fool Me Once' actress said people continue to judge her, but the media's tone has changed a lot in recent years.

However, she has noticed an increase in online trolling, but she doesn't let it get to her too much.

"The judgment is still there. People are now judging you online," she said.

Michelle and Mark have been together since September 2013. The pair announced their engagement after nine months together.

They then tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in May of 2015.
