A video that apparently shows Oscar Pistorius recreating the events leading up to the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentines Day last year has been leaked.
The 27-year-old, who is currently on trial for the death of model Steenkamp at his Pretoria home, can be seen running without his prosthetic legs while pretending to hold a gun.
According to The Independent, a preview of the leaked video is due to be broadcast in a documentary on Australia’s Channel Seven on Sunday night.
The previously unseen footage shows the Paralympian dressed in a Nike t-shirt and black shorts running unaided and without his prosthetic legs through a living room while appearing to pretend to hold a gun in his hand.
The video also shows the 27-year-old crawling on all fours as he struggles to carry a motionless brunette woman out of a bathroom.
A spokeswoman for the Pistorius camp, Anneliese Burgress, has said that legal advisors are seeking “urgent clarification” from the Australian broadcaster about the emerged footage of the athlete.
It is not yet known why the re-enactment took place or why it is yet to been shown in court.
Previous reports claim that American firm, The Evidence Room, was prepping an animated recreation of the fatal event.
The trial resumed in South Africa earlier this week, with the court hearing that Oscar Pistorius was “not mentally ill” following on-going psychiatric tests.
According to The Telegraph, a report showed that, although Pistorius suffered from a level of anxiety, there was no evidence to suggest that he was affected by a generalised anxiety disorder. However, it was noted that the events of the night had left him with post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.
