‘We could all learn a lot from Holly Willoughby’s resilience’

Holly Willoughby

Our moonflower, Holly Willoughby.

Holly Willoughby made her return to TV last week following a turbulent 2023.

After stepping away from presenting duties on This Morning last October, the broadcaster took some much-needed space and time to recuperate after an alleged kidnapping plot and revelations about her co-host and friend, Phillip Schofield’s, affair with a younger colleague came to light.

In just one year, the mum-of-three has undergone major changes in her life, both professionally and personally, but returned to our screens smiling as she reclaimed her role as host on ‘Dancing On Ice’.

Despite speculation that the presenter may not return to the limelight amid accusations that the presenter knew about Schofield’s affair, as well as threats to her safety, Holly has proved naysayers wrong by coming back stronger than ever.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the media personality shared a poignant post from her brand, Wlyde Moon, about the moonflower, a flower that thrives in the darkest of environments.

“The Moonflower has become a symbol of blossoming in dark times,” the caption reads.

“These fragrant, white flowers have evolved over millions of years to open only at night and their ethereal, nocturnal beauty is a powerful symbol of how resilience, strength and growth can flourish during the darkest and most challenging moments.”

Holly, who has recently only returned to social media after a three-month break, reshared the symbolic post to her own story and wrote, “Even in the dark she grows…nature is beautiful.”

Whether she shared it knowingly or not, the broadcaster is somewhat of a moonflower herself.

It would have been easy, understandable even, for the broadcaster to stay away from TV, remain off social media, and avoid the limelight after the year she has had.

Despite the dangers posed to her and her family and the accusations thrown her way, Holly stepped in front of the camera last weekend appearing happy, healthy, and strong.

In the aftermath of her return to ‘Dancing On Ice’, experts have even predicted that she could even be on the path to having her own show, according to The Sun.

These sources add that viewers are getting to know a more ‘grown-up’ and ‘assertive’ version of Holly.

“The Disney princess version of Holly has been put on ice,” one expert told the outlet.

Meanwhile, Brand and culture expert Nick Ede told the publication that her comeback is proving stronger than her setback.

“There was a lot of anticipation about Holly’s return and having her back on our screens establishes her as a leading broadcaster in the UK.

“We didn’t miss Phillip and Holly didn’t need him. The on-screen chemistry with Stephen was really good. It felt like it was her show – she owned the rink.

“She’s not Queen of daytime TV anymore – it looks like she’s Queen of primetime. It felt like Holly had somehow matured and I can see her branching into more serious stuff now.”

As the quote from T. Harv Eker goes, “The only time you are actually growing is when you are uncomfortable,” and Holly couldn’t be more of a testament to this.

We all face challenges and lows in our lives; navigating them in front of the world is not something the majority of us are used to.

Not only has Holly made it through the dark times, but she’s found a way to thrive despite them, as proved by her majorly successful return to TV last Sunday.

Taking a glance at the presenter’s Instagram post announcing her comeback, you’ll, unfortunately, find one too many comments that were aimed at keeping her down.

Her ability to overcome and rise above it all is something we should all be inspired by.

Welcome back, Holly. We have a feeling that 2024 is going to be your year.
