The world has become invested in the life and past of Gypsy Rose Blanchard since her release from prison in December 2023
Blanchard has garnered 7.8 million followers since she returned to Instagram and with a book and limited series on the way, some believe a biopic covering her childhood, the murder of her mother and her time in prison could be next.
The 34-year-old’s name hit headlines back in 2016 when she pleaded guilty to her part in a plot to kill her mother, Claudine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard, after years of abuse.
Dee Dee was found dead at their home in Missouri in 2015 and Gypsy Rose was sentenced to a total of 10 years in prison for the crime that was committed with the help of her former boyfriend.
Over the past few weeks, Blanchard has been promoting her upcoming book and life-time special – both of which were released over the weekend.
Now, the question of whether or not a biopic could be on the way is being floated and Blanchard is prepared if the opportunity does in fact come up.
The 34-year-old has been giving many high profile interviews and in a very recent one with Access Hollywood she revealed the star she would want to play her in a biopic of her life.
When asked who she would pick if allowed to be involved in another movie or TV series, Blanchard said:
“You know it’s funny because I always wanted Millie Bobby Brown to play me. So I think she would be good at playing me.”
She even went on to say: “You know I am a Swiftie, and I think that Taylor Swift’s music has been a little bit of a guiding light for me to express my feelings through music and really kind of connect with music in that way.
“So I think ‘Eyes Open’ came out in like 2012, and that one really resonated with me. To me, the message was, you know, keep your eyes open because you never know who’s out to get you, out to sabotage you.
“It reigned true for me in prison as well because it’s not exactly a friendly environment.”
