”As many of you may know, our son Jack was just over 3 pounds when he was born. Thanks to scientific advances made possible by #marchofdimesfunding, today he’s a perfectly healthy, curious 4 year old. Today is #worldprematurityday.”

The Guardians of the Galaxy actor also pleaded with his fans to support other parents in his situation.

”15 million babies are born prematurely each year around the world. And 1 million of them won’t live to celebrate their 1st #birthday. The @marchofdimes strives for a world where every #baby has a fair chance, yet this is not the reality for many mothers and babies. In an interview with People in 2014, Chris said that the birth of his little boy restored his faith.

“It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it,”

“The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect.” The actor said.
