Britney Spears nearly starred in this legendary movie
‘The Notebook’ may be one of the most loved romantic dramas of our time, but it very nearly had a different lead actress.
Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams may have won awards for their beautiful performances in the touching film, but Britney Spears nearly starred alongside the ‘Barbie’ star.
Ahead of the release of her memoir, Britney revealed she was almost cast in ‘The Notebook’.
Spears revealed she missed out on the role because of Rachel McAdams, but she’s happy she didn’t star in the film.
In an excerpt obtained by People, Spears shared:
“The Notebook casting came down to me and Rachel McAdams, and even though it would have been fun to reconnect with Ryan Gosling after our time on The Mickey Mouse Club, I’m glad I didn’t do it.”

The singer explained that she was focusing on her music when she was approached for the film.
However, producers decided to cast Rachel McAdams in the end.
“If I had, instead of working on my album ‘In the Zone’ I’d have been acting like a 1940s heiress.”
The singer starred in ‘Crossroads’ but said she struggled with her acting career.
She admitted she felt relieved when her acting career began and ended with ‘Crossroads’.
“Living that way, being half yourself and half a fictional character, is messed up. After a while you don’t know what’s real anymore.”
