Britney Spears’ mum is ‘very apologetic’ and is working to repair their relationship

Britney Spears' mother, Lynne Spears, is reportedly working to mend their relationship

In the book, the 'Gimme More' singer shared an insight into the challenges she faces in her family life while under her father's conservatorship, which ended in 2021.

However, it is being reported now that Lynne is 'really making an effort' to repair her relationship with her eldest daughter.

A source revealed to PEOPLE that Britney is still "hurt" by the lack of action from her mum and feels she "could have done more to help her".

"Her mom does love her. There is no doubt about that," the source said, adding that "Britney can be very stubborn."

The insider also explained that the 'Toxic' singer's mum is "very apologetic" and "takes full blame".

The source revealed: "Lynne is really making an effort to be in Britney’s life. Britney likes spending time with her."

"They have a complicated relationship, but it seems they both need each other."

Following Britney's birthday celebrations with her mum and her brother, Bryan, another source told the outlet that "being together and celebrating her birthday was a really nice moment for the family".

In May, Britney shared with her Instagram followers that she is also working to rebuild her relationship with Lynne and expressed her love towards her.

"My sweet mama showed up at my doorstep yesterday after 3 years … it’s been such a long time … with family there’s always things that need to be worked out … but time heals all wounds!!!”

"And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things RIGHT !!! I love  you so much !!!”
