Charlotte Crosby and her family will not be celebrating the holidays in their usual way this year
Geordie Shore star, Charlotte Crosby, has made the decision to tone down the festivities in her household this Christmas.
This comes just over a year after the death of the reality TV star’s beloved grandmother, Jean, who sadly passed in November 2022.
For this reason, Christmas for the Crosby family will not be celebrated in its full capacity, nor will there be any gifts.
Instead, Charlotte will put minimal festive decor in her home and has put plans in place to take her loved ones abroad to the Maldives for the holidays.
The influencer told The Mirror that she will put a ‘small tree’ up for her daughter Alba Jean, whom she welcomed with her fiance, Jake Ankers, in October 2022.
“We’re gonna do a small little tree just for Alba’s sake, like a little one that you put at the table. This is a first time abroad I’ve never done a Christmas away and we’re not doing any presents. It’s just about making some memories, like amazing memories, on a big family holiday.
“We’re going with my mum, my dad – just basically everyone who we would gather with on Christmas Day.”
Charlotte also admitted that the holidays tend to make her feel ‘quite down’ and she ‘doesn’t really enjoy’ Christmas.
“Obviously I’ve never liked Christmas but last Christmas was the worst. It was the first Christmas without my Nana – she had died a month beforehand – and just nothing felt the same.”
Charlotte’s daughter’s middle name pays homage to her late grandmother, highlighting the close bond that the two shared.
At the time of Jean’s passing, the social media personality told her followers that she didn’t think her world would ‘ever be the same’.
“My little nana Jean. Heartbroken doesn’t come close to how I’m feeling. The love of my life and the light of my life,” she wrote under a tribute post for her late grandmother on Instagram.
“From a little girl until now I have adored every inch of you. My brave strong nana. My beautiful nana. You were there when I entered the world and I was there when you took your last breath and left.
“I don’t think my world will ever be the same without you. I named my daughter after you for a reason nana I don’t think you will ever truly know how much I loved and adored you and still do.
“So many memories and this video is just a glimpse into them and it’s where I can constantly watch and relive them, it’s where I can come to see you anytime I want. What I would give for one more day one more hour with you even.
“I miss you nana I hope to see you again one day because I already yearn to hear you say ‘hello my darling’ when I walk in to see you. Please hold your loved ones tight because life is truly truly precious,” Charlotte urged her followers.
