Footballer Ashley Cole is to be questioned by police after being accused of assaulting a television presenter at a US nightclub.
It’s believed that Cole was partying with friends at a trendy Hollywood nightclub when he allegedly poured a bottle of champagne over MTV presenter Donatella Panayiotou, yelling “You know what this is for!”.
Panayiotou reportedly hit back by saying “I’ve never done anything to you. Who the f*** do you think you are?” before the pair became embroiled in a physical row, in which the 29-year-old said she was pushed, shoved and had her throat piercing ripped out.
LA police have since confirmed that they have launched an investigation into the incident and the presenter confirmed she had reported the altercation, adding “there was an incident and it is now in the hands of the police authorities following a formal complaint of assault against Ashley Cole”.
