‘I was borderline alcoholic’ – Adele reveals she gave up drinking three months ago

Adele revealed she stopped drinking three months ago at one of her Vegas shows.

"I stopped drinking maybe like three and a half months ago. It's boring. I mean, I was literally borderline alcoholic for quite a lot of my twenties, but I miss it so much. I cut out caffeine.

"So enjoy your whiskey sour. I'm very, very jealous," the singer joked to the crowd.

Adele struggled with drinking during the COVID-19 lockdowns and revealed she once drank four bottles of wine before lunch.

"I remember when I came here in Covid, in lockdown, it was 11 am and I was definitely like four bottles of wine in – like we all were," she confessed.

"I said in 2020 that I wanted to put my album out. And we were all at home just drunk basically."

The 'Rolling In The Deep' singer has previously spoken to US Vogue about how life in insolation impacted her drinking habits.

"I've always had a very close relationship with alcohol. I was always very fascinated by alcohol. It's what kept my dad from me. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it," she explained.

Her lifestyle change hasn't stopped the Grammy-winning singer from celebrating.

The mum is reportedly planning a week of celebrations for her son Angelo's 11th birthday.

"This week my son turns 11 years old. Can you believe that? We have got a busy week coming celebrating him. He is very much like me because I take my birthday very seriously," Adele said to her fans at her concert.

"So it is a whole week or a month celebration which I think everyone should treat their birthday like."
