This is helping my acne calm down
Trying to find a skincare product that calms down angry red acne is not easy, especially when most come with a hefty price tag.
I’ve invested in some pretty pricey products that have made little to no difference despite the cost, but there is one product that has helped a lot.
If, like me, your acne tends to flare up when you’re feeling stressed or during that time of the month then this €7 is your new friend.
You may be surprised to hear that calamine lotion is the holy grail product I’m talking about.
It may not be glamorous or expensive, but it helps soothe your skin when it’s feeling particularly bad.
I’m currently dealing with a nasty reaction to benzoyl peroxide treatment but calamine lotion really helps get rid of redness and also eases pain.
It won’t magically cure your skin issues overnight – what does? but it will offer you some relief.
It will dry out your skin if used too frequently so this is a treatment you should limit to once a week or if you’re suffering from a particularly bad outbreak.
Calamine lotion won’t cure your acne but as a treatment, it’s pretty reliable.
It’s also one we can afford to purchase without being stressed about our bank balance.
Calamine lotion has drying properties so it will help your breakouts but it can dry out your skin. You need to make sure you use moisturiser if you’re using it as a spot treatment.
According to Healthline, calamine lotion is considered safe to use topically, and very few side effects have been reported.
Is there any bargain product you always rely on?
