Don’t be hurt if your nail tech isn’t a yapper
Getting our nails done is the ultimate treat and something we honestly spend way too much money on.
The monthly trip to the nail salon may not be kind to our bank accounts, but it’s certainly good for our confidence and our chatterbox tendencies.
There’s something about getting your nails done and having a good chat that hits different, but not all nail techs will appreciate your yapping.
A woman on Reddit recently revealed that she feels awkward because her nail tech isn’t overly chatty.
She admitted she’s been trying to build up a rapport with her nail technician but she’s not interested in chatting.
She wrote on Reddit, “I get the feeling she just isn’t interested in chatting- which I really don’t mind but I don’t want her to think I am not interested in speaking to her. I am sure she is trying to concentrate and I notice most of the artist/ acrylic specialist techs don’t speak to their clients.
“I really appreciate her so much and I just don’t want her to think I am not interested in her but I can’t sit there in silence anymore,” she wrote.
A nail tech responded and reassured the client
She explained that a lot of nail technicians don’t talk to their clients because they’re busy concentrating.
She urged the woman not to take it personally because time is money.
“If they are chatty, I try to talk and engage without stopping what I’m doing. If they’re quiet, I’m quiet,” she explained.
“But, don’t take it personally. She might be concentrating like you said.
“Also most of us are paid by commission so we need to get as many clients as possible per day.
“If you talk, the appointment takes longer,” they added.
