Leading the charge as co-chairs for the biggest fashion event on the calendar are Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, and the iconic Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue. 

Together, they will guide attendees through an evening themed "The Garden of Time," drawing inspiration from a JG Ballard short story of the same name. 

In line with the forthcoming exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” the dress code for this year's Met Gala revolves around the ethereal concept of fleeting beauty.

Those lucky enough to be sent a coveted invite will be expected to interpret this theme in various ways; like embracing florals reminiscent of a garden in bloom or incorporating time motifs such as clocks and hourglasses into their red carpet outfits. 

The "Sleeping Beauties" exhibition will showcase nearly 250 items from the museum's permanent collection spanning 400 years of fashion history. 

Designs by legendary names like Elsa Schiaparelli, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, and Givenchy will be featured - each piece is a testament to the allure of fashion across generations. 

It will be divided into three main zones representing land, sea, and sky to underscore the symbiotic relationship between nature and fashion, with an emphasis on sustainability. 

By highlighting the use of natural materials in garment design throughout history, the Costume Institute aims to reflect on the industry's impact on the environment and the importance of responsible practices. 

This year's Met Gala also marks notable milestones for some of its co-chairs. While veteran attendee Jennifer Lopez and fashion icon Anna Wintour return to their roles, it will be the inaugural Met Gala for Marvel heartthrob, Chris Hemsworth. 

Meanwhile, Zendaya, known for her show-stopping red carpet looks, continues to captivate audiences with her sartorial choices, while rapper Bad Bunny brings his unique flair to the world-renowned event. 

As preparations for the Met Gala get underway, one thing remains certain: under Anna Wintour's discerning eye, the event will once again showcase the pinnacle of fashion, creativity, and extravagance while serving as a vital fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute.
