Looking for something new to watch? Look no further.

After a long day at work, there’s nothing we love more than putting our feet up and popping something funny on the telly. As easy as this sounds, we’ve all spent hours channel hopping, hoping to find some TV gold to help us decompress.

If this struggle feels all too real, fear not, because the second season of a comedy gem has just landed on Disney+, and it’s bound to be your next binge watch.

Extraordinary is a hit comedy series set in a world where everyone receives a superpower when they turn 18. Our heroine Jen (Máiréad Tyers), however, has yet to receive her power and is desperately trying to find her place in this magical world.

Season 2 picks up right where season one left off. Jen has enrolled as a client in a powers clinic but discovers gaining a power isn’t the smooth-sailing she hoped it would be. Meanwhile, her ex-cat now boyfriend Jizzlord (Luke Rollason) has had an unexpected revelation about his past, while Kash (Bilal Hasna) and Carrie (Sofia Oxenham) are attempting to navigate their break up as grown-ups.

Ready to enter the chaotic world of Extraordinary? Here are 5 reasons it deserves a spot on your must-watch list.

1. It’s jam-packed with Irish stars

Jen is played fabulously by Cork’s own Máiréad Tyers, and she’s definitely one to watch. In addition to our leading lady, Siobhán McSweeney, of Derry Girls fame plays Mary, Jen’s mother, while Father Ted legend Ardal O’Hanlon voices Jen’s late father Martin.

2. It turns the superhero genre on its head

Jen finds herself a fish out of water in a world saturated with superpowers, and this makes for a refreshing twist on the superhero genre. You can expect to be wowed by the characters’ powers, but Extraordinary is also a laugh-a-minute comedy show. And, with plenty of romantic storylines, there’s something for every viewer to enjoy.

3. Jen is deeply relatable

Extraordinary perfectly captures what it feels like to not measure up to those around you with humour and heart. As you watch, you’ll find yourself rooting for Jen, but also relating deeply to how she navigates these feelings.

4. The soundtrack is banger after banger

Relive your indie phase with the impeccable soundtrack to Extraordinary. We’re talking Modest Mouse, we’re talking The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, we’re talking The Go! Team. Truly, you’ll be in music heaven.

5. Each episode leaves you wanting more

As you finish each episode of Extraordinary you’ll discover that reaching for the Next Episode button is now part of your muscle memory. Indeed, with an engaging storyline, loveable characters and whip-smart writing, Extraordinary makes for the perfect binge-watch.

You can watch both seasons of Extraordinary exclusively on Disney+ right now.
