Add us as a preferred source on Google »No longer confined to the classic diamond solitaire, brides today are embracing a wide array of colourful gemstones to symbolise their love.
This trend reflects a broader movement towards personalisation and self-expression in weddings.
Speaking to Her.ie Chupi said: “With more than eight out of 10 brides now being part of choosing their own engagement ring, it is no surprise we are seeing a rise of coloured engagement rings.
“The era of the boring engagement ring is over. Brides want a ring that truly celebrates who they are.”
The traditional diamond ring, while still beloved by many, is increasingly being complemented or replaced by rings featuring sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and even unconventional stones like morganite and aquamarine.
This shift not only adds a splash of colour to the engagement ring scene but also allows couples to choose unique stones that carry personal significance or reflect their unique personalities.
The rise of coloured engagement rings is partly driven by celebrities and public figures who flaunt their vibrant rings, setting new trends and inspiring brides-to-be.
Princess Diana’s iconic sapphire engagement ring, now worn by Kate Middleton, has spurred many to consider sapphires as a beautiful and meaningful alternative to diamonds.
A coloured engagement ring can symbolise this uniqueness, making it a perfect choice for modern brides who value individuality.
Jewellery designers and retailers have taken note of this shift, expanding their collections to include a variety of coloured gemstones.
One Irish brand with plenty of options available is Chupi. Their collection consists of incredible engagement rings with stunning Lab Grown Diamonds, Grey Diamonds, Classic Diamonds or Vibrant Coloured Gemstones.
Each Chupi Engagement Ring is designed and made in Ireland using 100% Recycled Solid Gold and hallmarked in Ireland's historic Dublin Castle.
