Move over Minis, the Tall Boot is having a revival!
In 2023, mini-platform Uggs had their moment after the likes of Emily Ratajkowski, Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid were all seen sporting the 90s-inspired boot.
Come winter, the shoe’s surge in popularity became more evident than ever.
As we enter 2024, it would appear that Uggs will maintain their chokehold over our fashion choices, however, this time with their tall boot, AKA the Sundance Boot, or the Sunburst Boot.
TikTok has predicted many a trend that has gone on to materialise in fashion magazines and later in our wardrobes.
With the Ugg Tall Boot, it will likely be no different as weather temperatures continue to coincide with warm and more comfortable footwear.
If you want to have your A/W 24 wardrobe on trend, Tall Boots should be purchased now
In an interview with Variety, comedian Esther Povitsky, who has dubbed herself as ‘Jane Goodall of Hot Girls’, says this trend will replace the Ultra-Mini Uggs.
“Tall Uggs are a big thing that’s coming that people are not going to be ready for, for sure. Like, RIP Ultra-Mini Uggs.
“We’re shifting back to tall Uggs. I think if you want to get a hot girl a gift this season, an Ugg-related gift, the Tall Uggs is really where you want to go. Everyone’s already cycled through the Slip-Ons and Ultra-Minis,” Esther added.
The same sentiment has been shared across TikTok as social media users aim to get out in front of 2024 fashion trends, with one user calling the boots ‘the next cool-girl Ugg’.
Casey Lewis, @caseymorrowlewis, took to the video platform to explain her three-part thought process behind the predicted footwear trend.
“For months now, I’ve had this theory that tall Uggs would be the next “it” Ugg. Everyone’s been wearing minis for two or three seasons.
“Once everyone starts wearing a trend, then people at the forefront start to shift into wearing something else. It’s literally how trend cycles go. So, I’ve had this hunch.”
This prediction has been proven by the TikTok user, who went on to explain how she has seen the Tall Uggs trend already beginning.
“Within two days, I saw not one but three cool NYC teens wearing the Ugg Sundance, the tall style with fur trim.
“Three separate sightings of the Sundance – which is now sometimes called the Sunburst boot.”

Casey’s second reason for the death of mini Uggs came after her mum asked her if she should get a pair.
“My mom asked me if she should get mini Uggs. My mom is so great but she is a boomer who lives in the Midwest, and by that, I mean she is not exactly at the forefront of trends, although she is quite trendy.
“But if she is asking me if she should get mini Uggs, that means that the trend has gone to mid-America, to small towns, which means Gen Z’ers are going to be onto the next.”
Casey concludes that Esther’s fashion prophecy is one of the main reasons she believes Tall Uggs are the next big thing.
“I agree [with Esther]. I’ve been saying this, thank you, Esther.
“Esther studies cool girls, I study trends. Like, if we’re both thinking that this is going to happen, I’m telling you it’s going to happen.
“Tall Uggs are going to be the next It Ugg. You heard it here first. You maybe didn’t hear it here first, you heard it from Esther, but you could possibly be hearing it here first!
“Buy them now, they’re going to be sold out in probably nine months for next fall. Just wait.”
