The two sisters haven’t been together since 2019

Christmas is just days away and we are so ready to switch off and spend time with our loved ones. The holidays are all about being with the people who genuinely love and care about you, whether that’s your blended family, the friends you made in college, or your sisters.

Nobody has the same celebration over Christmas, but one thing we do have in common is spending it with people who truly matter to us.

Thousands of people have been flying into the country this week to spend the Christmas break with their loved ones.

Some have been away from home for months, but others have been gone for years, longing to give their mam a big hug and tiring of catching up with their best friends over FaceTime.

Dublin Airport will soon resemble a scene from Love Actually and honestly, it’s one of the best parts of the holidays.

Seeing people return home after being away from their loved ones is exactly what we need during this time of year.

Two Cork sisters recently had their reunion after four long years.

Alannah O’Sullivan shared the moment she reunited with her sister at Cork Kent Station.

She was away in Australia since 2019 so their reunion was a long time coming.

Alannah told Her.ie: “I moved to Australia four years ago and I haven’t seen my sister since I left in December 2019.”

Alannah explained that her sister was away on her J1 when she visited Ireland last summer.

The sisters reunited yesterday and the moment is completely heartwarming.

“It was a long-awaited hug that I will remember forever,” she shared.

You can watch the video below but have tissues at the ready. It’s quite an emotional moment.
