Sam Thompson won this year’s I’m a Celeb
Sam Thompson was one of the most enthusiastic I’m a Celeb stars the show has ever had.
He constantly told his fellow campmates about how much he loved the show growing up.
Sam even said he used to dream of taking part when he was a kid.
Nobody ever looked as happy as he did, even during the Bushtucker Trials.
He was crowned champion last month, but it looks like we could’ve had a very different winner this year.
Sam told his podcast listeners that he very nearly quit the show when reality hit.
The former Made In Chelsea star said he almost left on the first day.
“So on the first day when we go in, I had a panic attack. And I went in really guns blazing, I was so excited.
“I was like ‘oh my god everyone’s here’, like energy through the roof.
Sam added: “Suddenly it hit me what we were doing”.
“I had a full-blown panic attack on the first day.
Sam said people kept asking him why he was so quiet but he couldn’t explain what was wrong.
Sam was worried about being removed from the camp for a medical reason.
However, the reality star was able to reassure himself.
He told his fans:
“It took me a bit of time to acclimatise because I was so overwhelmed with the whole experience.”
The reality star explained that it can be very overwhelming when you first get to camp.
Sam said he was so worried that he’d have to leave because he was so panicked.
“I’m either really ill and I’m going to have to see the medic on day one, and I’m going to be like you might have to pull me out.”
Luckily, Sam stayed for the full three weeks and walked away as the new King of the Jungle.
