Strike At Dublin Bus And Bus Éireann Called Off After 15 Hours Of Talks

The sides have reached an agreement.

A proposed strike by members of SIPTU and National Bus and Rail Union at Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann has been called off.

The strike was due to go ahead on Friday and Saturday of this week, as well as on a further three dates later on in the month.

However, the action was cancelled after 15 hours of talks at the Labour Relations Commission this week.

It has been reported that a five-page document with terms of a settlement has been accepted by both sides.

However, despite the fact that it states that no employee of the companies will have to transfer to a new contractor, plans to put 10% of the bus routes to tender will go ahead as planned.
