Add us as a preferred source on Google »It's Rose of Tralee week and it feels like our little island is living in an episode of Father Ted.
The first half of the competition aired on RTÉ last night and a surprising amount of people tuned in, myself included.
I don't know what it is about the Rose of Tralee, but I can't help but watch it in all its chaotic glory.
It's outrageous, awfully cringy but strangely endearing.
It quickly became a trending topic on Twitter and WhatsApp groups across Ireland were full of critiques about dresses, Irish dancing, and Dáithí Ó Sé's humour.
But there was one thing everyone noticed about the first half of this year's Rose of Tralee.
Why was nearly every contestant wearing red?
If you were taking a shot every time a Rose wore a red dress then I can't imagine how much your head hurts this morning.
Viewers couldn't help but comment on the recurring fashion trend last night.

One wrote, "Why are all the roses wearing red this year?"
Another said, "Take a shot every time a rose wears a red dress."
Another added, "Are red dresses mandatory this year, says the very wilted former Derry Rose who also wore a red stage dress."
18 Roses took to the stage last night and the remaining 14 will appear this evening.
What're the odds of Dáithí Ó Sé' wearing his best red dress tonight?
I'm not psychic but just gonna say that the winner of #RoseOfTralee will be wearing a red dress. pic.twitter.com/F4X7vjrqhE
