One of the survivors of last week’s Berkeley tragedy has says that she intends to honour those who died by living the “happiest and most fulfilling life possible”.
Clodagh Cogley was severely injured when a balcony collapsed while she was on her J1 in the US and took to Facebook earlier today to update her friends on her condition.
The 21-year-old revealed in the post that she faces an uphill battle to regain the use of her legs but showed tremendous bravery and humour in her reaction to the shocking tragedy.
The funerals of Olivia Burke and Niccolai Schuster, who both died in the accident, also took place earlier today.
Emotional tributes were paid to 21-year-old Schuster at the Church of the Three Patrons in Rathgar, with his friends and former soccer team-mates performing a guard of honour at the the ceremony.
Olivia Burke’s funeral was held at the Church of Perpetual Succour in Foxrock, with Hozier performing his track Work Song as a musical tribute at the end of the funeral mass.
