Homelessness has reportedly reached crisis point in Dublin once more according to homeless charity Focus Ireland.
The charity has stated that family homelessness reached an all-time high in April, with 71 homeless families referred to them – making it the highest figure on record.
As a result, the charity is calling on Alan Kelly, Minister of the Environment, Community and Local Government to issue a directive to local authorities to provide emergency accommodation for families.
According to Mike Allen of Focus Ireland, the problem is also arising in other Irish cities including Cork and Galway.
