Gypsy Rose Blanchard will be released from prison after nearly 10 years
Gypsy Rose Blanchard will reportedly be released from prison on December 28th.
She has been in prison since she pled guilty to the second-degree murder of her mum, Clauddine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard in 2015.
Gypsy Rose and her boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn plotted her murder, but Gypsy Rose was only sentenced to 10 years in prison.
She hid in the bathroom when Nicholas Godejohn stabbed her mother to death.
He is currently serving a life sentence in prison.
Before her death, Dee Dee claimed her daughter had multiple medical issues including leukemia, muscular dystrophy, and asthma.
Her mum also claimed she had hearing and vision issues, and also suffered seizures.
Her mother gave her medicines she did not need and also made her use a wheelchair, as well as a feeding tube.
Gypsy’s mother was found dead at their home in 2015. Following the discovery of her mother’s body, police arrested Gypsy Rose as well as her boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn.
Missouri’s Department of Corrections has confirmed she will be released from prison on December 28th.
She was originally set for release in 2026 but has served 85% of her sentence.
Fans of Gypsy Rose have often said she never should’ve been imprisoned. Many believe that she is a victim and have stressed that she should have been given mental health support rather than being locked away.
