Love Actually is one of the best Christmas movies

It is one of the best Christmas rom-coms but it's also one movie that never fails to make us cry like babies.

There is one scene in particular that always leaves us in tears.

The moment when Emma Thompson's character Karen is crying in her room to that Joni Mitchelle CD is the one.

It's the most heartbreaking moment in the movie, but it's also one of the best performances in the show.

Emma Thompson sought inspiration from her own life when they were filming the scene.

She was left heartbroken after fellow actor Kenneth Branagh cheated on her.

The actor reportedly cheated on her because he wanted to "get into character".

The pair were together for eight years before they broke up.

"That scene where my character is standing by the bed crying is so well known because it's something everyone's been through," the actress told Stella.

She continued: "I had my heart very badly broken by Ken. So I knew what it was like to find the necklace that wasn't meant for me."

"Well it wasn't exactly that, but we've all been through it," she added.

If anyone needs me I'll be watching Love Actually for the twentieth time and crying into a box of Roses.
