Gardaí launch investigation following discovery of woman’s body in Dublin

Gardaí were alerted about the woman this morning

A Garda investigation is now underway following the discovery of a woman’s body in Dublin this morning.

The harrowing discovery was made on Griffith Avenue in Whitehall just before 6 am.

The body of a woman, reportedly aged in her 20s, was discovered in the Dublin suburb on Wednesday, March 6th.

Her body remains at the scene, Gardaí have confirmed.

They have launched an investigation following the shocking discovery.

A Garda spokesperson told The Independent:

“Gardaí in Santry are currently at scene in relation to the investigation of all the circumstances of the discovery of a body on Griffith Avenue, Whitehall this morning Wednesday 6th March, 2024.

“Gardaí were alerted to the body at 5.50am. The body of a female, aged in her 20s remains at the scene which is currently preserved and the scene will be examined.

“A post-mortem will take place in due course which will determine the course of the investigation,” the spokesperson added.

The scene has been preserved and an examination will take place in due course.
