With the west and south west in particular on high alert last night for thunderstorms, Irish Weather News have just tweeted an amazing radar image which shows every lightning strike last night.
The tweet portrays every single strike that struck during the 24-hour period right up until 9am this morning.
The worst hit was the west, south and east of the country.

This imagery comes as Met Eireann issue a Yellow Alert warning today, predicting heavy rain and localized flooding. Twitter users have also added pictures of the storm.
