Ashling Murphy’s murderer believes he will be out of prison soon

Jozef Puska, the man who murdered Irish teacher, Ashling Murphy, believes he will be freed from prison soon.

His appeal is due to be held in the coming months. The killer believes his conviction for the murder of the beloved teacher will be quashed.

According to The Irish Sun, he has been telling fellow inmates at Midlands Prison that he will win his upcoming appeal.

The news comes ahead of Ashling Murphy’s three year anniversary on January 12th.

Her loved ones have invited the public to remember the late teacher at a memorial service this weekend.

The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund shared on Facebook:

“We wish to invite you to join us in remembering and celebrating Ashling’s life at her 3rd anniversary mass which will take place on Sunday, 12th January, at 10am in St.Brigid’s Church, Mountbolus.

“A commemorative walk will take place on Sunday afternoon to Ashling’s Memorial Shrine on the Grand Canal, Tullamore. Meeting at Digby Bridge Carpark, Capincurr at 3pm. Anyone walking along the canal from the Tullamore side may meet at the memorial shrine at 3.15pm (Approx. 25-30 minute walk beginning at the Fiona Pender Monument ~> Ashling’s Memorial).

“Please join us as we remember our beloved Ashling on her 3rd anniversary.”

Ashling, who worked as a primary school teacher, was murdered beside the Grand Canal at Cappincur outside Tullamore, Co Offaly, on January 12th, 2022.

Her killer, Jozef Puska, was sentenced to life in prison last year after being convicted of her murder in November.
