Commemorative walk held to mark Ashling Murphy’s three year anniversary

Three years have passed since the untimely passing of Ashling Murphy

Hundreds gathered to remember the late Ashling Murphy on her third anniversary this weekend.

Three years have passed since the beloved Irish teacher was tragically killed in an attack in Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

The 23-year-old was jogging along the canal in Tullamore when she was murdered by Jozef Puska.

Mourners gathered in Tullamore to honour Ashling on Sunday, January 12th. They walked along the banks of the canal to Ashling’s memorial shrine.

A memorial mass was also held at St Brigid’s Church in Mountbolus on Sunday, January 12th.

Members of the public gathered at the Fiona Pender Monument following Ashling’s memorial mass.

The Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund penned a moving tribute to the late teacher on their Facebook page.

Alongside a photo of Ashling, they stated: “Remembering Ashling on her 3rd Anniversary. Today we remember our beloved Ashling, who is so dearly missed each and every day, especially by her heartbroken family and wide circle of friends.”

They also thanked the public for honouring Ashling on her third anniversary.
