The weather is improving this week and the sun has decided to finally pop out and say hello - what better time than now to head down to the beach?
Unfortunately, everyone is going to be having the same idea leading to overcrowding and admittedly not the best day out on the sand.
However, there is one option just a few minutes from Dublin city that tourists often overlook - a little hidden gem, if you will.
Literally called 'A Tiny Hidden Beach' on Google Maps, this secluded spot in Howth is ideal for people looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy a quiet day at the beach.
The Tiny Hidden Beach is nestled between the Howth cliffs, offering clear blue water and breathtaking views adored by locals in the know.
To get there, one has to travel down a steep and narrow path that winds its way down the Howth cliffs.
Those travelling from Dublin can hop on the 6 or the H3 bus and get off at Howth Summit (stop 567), before embarking on a short walk to the hidden beach.
You can alternatively travel to Howth via the DART, which is approximately 25 minutes, make your own way to Howth summit and travel down from there.
Once you get there you can dip the toes in the Irish Sea if you're brave enough, or simply relax and enjoy the incredible views of Howth Head.
There's nothing better than having the beach all to yourself, and this tiny hidden gem is the perfect place for just that.
