Whether we want to admit it or not, the end of 2025 is almost here - and we're already dreaming about our next vacation.
Which is why we were particularly excited when we found out there was a way to double our annual leave for 2026.
Yes, really.
By planning carefully and choosing strategic dates, you can score yourself a nice little break - but you'll want to get in before everyone else does.
Next year, Easter Monday falls on April 6.
So, if you book off April 7, 8, 9 and 10, you can land yourself nine days off - using just four days of holidays. Or even 10 days of holidays, if your employer is one that closes on Good Friday.
We have a funny feeling that Easter holiday requests are about to get very popular.
Similarly, if you're looking for a bit of extra time off around the holidays next year, you can get a staggering 16 days of holidays - using just seven annual leave days.
This trick works because Christmas Day and St. Stephen's Day fall on a Friday and Saturday, respectively, next year. This makes Monday, December 28 the substitute day.
The crucial dates to book off are December 21, 22, 23 and 24; as well as December 29, 30, and 31.
Combined with the Bank Holiday for New Year's Day, this would see you end up with 16 days of annual leave, using just seven holiday days.
