You can now book to stay at the actual Moulin Rouge windmill on Airbnb

Sometimes, a regular aul' hotel room just won't do – especially if you are celebrating something major – or want to give yourself that once-in-a-lifetime experience. And right now – Airbnb is giving you that chance. For the first time ever, Paris' Moulin Rouge – yes, that scarlet red windmill indeed – is available to book, and honestly, can't you just imagine yourself living it up in a venue that will give you all the heady bohemian vibes of 1900s Paris? Yep – us too. The Moulin Rouge is located in Paris' Montmartre district, and to many visitors, a trip to the City of Lights is not complete without a visit to the eponymous red windmill, whether you go to the actual theatre for a show or not. And sitting atop one of the world's most famous cabarets and inside the now-iconic windmill is a secret room, hitherto unseen by the public. According to CNN Travel, the windmill room has been converted into a sumptuous boudoir, complete with pastel curtains and a selection of vintage artefacts and atmospheric nods to the theatre below – from vintage costumes and perfume bottles to a paper stage. And this June, a select number of travellers will be allowed to take a peek inside, as the Moulin Rouge partners with Airbnb and releases three dates when visitors will be able to book an overnight stay – for just a symbolic €1 – in what can only be described one of Paris' most famous and iconic buildings. However – be warned getting a room is not as easy as booking a regular Airbnb for the night. Speaking to CNN, Emmanuel Marill, Airbnb regional director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, explained only a select few people will be able to book as the Moulin Rouge Airbnb is a "once-in-a-lifetime" situation. The Moulin Rouge bedroom will be available to book for three different dates in June, 13, 20 and 27, and bookings open from May 17th using this link. Each night is bookable for a maximum of two guests. Anyone looking to book must have an Airbnb profile, and a history of at least three positive reviews from previous stays. As well as a night in the windmill, guests will be able to enjoy the Moulin Rouge's signature cabaret show and a three-course French meal.
