Living for 100 years seems near impossible, even with our populations getting older, but what is the secret to marking 100 years on Earth?
According to Deborah Szekely, there are three key things to living a full life.
Staying positive, walking every day, and following a healthy lifestyle are key to living a long life.
I was low-key hoping Deborah would say something easier like drinking champagne or staying in bed as much as you like but alas her advice is pretty solid.
She told CNBC, "You don’t get to be 102, like, ‘Oh, well, I’ll make an exception here, an exception there.’ I don’t do exceptions. I enjoy my healthy life."
She added, "I meditate in action, in walking, in doing things. … My life is a meditation. I don’t (focus on the) negative."
When it comes to your mental well-being, we all know that focusing on the negative is emotionally and even physically draining.
Deborah stressed that dwelling on the past is something that can take its toll on you, which is why she focuses on having a positive lifestyle.
"I don’t believe in looking back," she stressed.
She continued, "I look ahead. I don’t say, ‘Oh, well, I wish I could do that or that.’ That’s a game. It doesn’t give me any strength, any energy. I would rather read a book than look back.
"Don’t waste time looking back. That’s a total waste of time. You can’t do anything about it, it’s done. Look forward, and look forward to things that you want," she said.

‘I’m a 35-year-old in HR, earning €26k, and this was my biggest financial mistake’
I’m a 35-year-old in HR, earning €26k, and this was my biggest financial mistake Let’s be honest, most of us are at least a little bit nosy when it comes to money. We want to know what other people are earning, how they’re actually getting by, and what their spending really looks like (not the […]
