Macra na Feirme’s “Know Your Neighbour Weekend” will take place from the 13th -14th July 2013.
The aim of the event is to encourage everyone to get to know their neighbours by organising a community event such as a BBQ, Teddy Bears Picnic, Family Fun Day or just a coffee morning!
The initiative is in its eighth years and aims to encourage more interaction between neighbours. Events will be taking place countrywide.

Macra na Feirme National President, Kieran O’Dowd, said, “The Know Your Neighbour Weekend slogan is “Don’t walk by, say hi” - a simple action that could open up doors. When we reach out to our neighbours and communities we get ten times over what we gave in return.”
Events from this weekend nationwide include a BBQ in Portlaoise, Elephant Racing in Limerick, a fancy dress sports night in Sligo and various fair days and gatherings.
Check out knowyourneighbour.ie for events listings or to register your event.
If this isn't perfect BBQ weather, we don't know what is. You might even make some friends!
