It’s a special name.
The total solar eclipse is one of the most rare occurrences the world will ever experience.
And as millions of people around the globe watched the phenomenon, this mum was giving birth to a new baby girl.
The event is so rare, that the hospital she gave birth in celebrated the arrival of the little one with a Facebook post, where they revealed the baby’s very special name.
Can you guess it?
Her parents called her Eclipse.
The Facebook post read: “Meet Eclipse! She was born at 8:04 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
“She’s 6 pounds, 3 ounces and 19 inches long. Mom and dad made a last-minute decision to name her Eclipse this morning.”
So sweet.
Speaking to WHNS, Eclipse’s parents said that they were a bit overwhelmed by the situation.
“It kind of still feels like it’s not real,” her mother said. “It all hit me at once.”
While her father told the publication: “Wow, my child is born on something that happens every so many years. It’s extremely rare.”
Welcome to the world Eclipse!
