A while back, the Gossip Girl reboot was officially announced, ensuring that each and every one of us was sufficiently pumped for some more Upper East Side drama.
And pumped we were as it became apparent that a whole host of new secretive, lying gossip-loving rich people are set to take over the Gossip Girl reins in the near future.
Kristen Bell is even reprising her role as narrator. Doesn’t get much better really, does it?
Well, it would if Blake Lively was involved, but listen, there’ll be a new Blake Lively for us to enjoy some time soon.
Here’s the new cast, and everything we know about them so far.
The Gossip Girl reboot officially cast its lead woman earlier this year in the form of Emily Alyn Lind.
The singer and actor will play the character of ‘Audrey’, an Upper East Side resident who “has been in a long term relationship and is beginning to wonder what more could be out there.”
That’s pretty much all we know so far about Lind’s character, but about her? Well, she’s probably best known for her roles in ABC series Revenge, where she played young Amanda Clarke and CBS medical drama Code Black.
She has also had minor roles in Criminal Minds, All My Children, The Secret Life of Bees, and others.

Chances are, Audrey will end up being a Blair Waldorf type. If her Instagram aesthetic is anything to go by, anyway.
Whitney Peak
Uganda born Peak has had a few small roles in the likes of Molly’s Game and CW’s iZombie, but her big break came when she bagged a recurring role in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Appearing in several episodes of part three of the Netflix show, 17 year old Peak played Judith Blackwood – a witch who has the power to control events through the use of incantations, commands, and gestures.
Let’s hope she possesses similar enough powers of manipulation in the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot, wha?

Eli Brown
19 year old Brown has appeared in his fair share of teenage dramas including Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.
In the spin-off series, he played Dylan Walker, a main character who is mad about music, hates his home town, and inevitably ends up getting messed up in some real messed up shit.

Johnathan Fernandez
Fernandez is absolutely going to end up playing a shady parent on this show, and if not, honestly, what is the point?
The 46 year old actor recently completed a three season run on Lethal Weapon, but has also appeared on the likes of Girls, Younger, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
“OXOX Gossip Squirrel. Am I doing it right?” he asked on his Instagram page, after announcing his new gig.

Jason Gotay
30 years old and a bit of a Broadway star (!), Gotay has got credits in stage adaptations of Bring It On and Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark.
He’s a tad older than the rest of the cast – not young enough to be a student and not old enough to be a parent – so it remains to be seen exactly who Gotay will be playing in the reboot.
Sure, we’ll find out soon enough. Maybe.

Thomas Doherty
Another singer in our midst! And another male actor who’s got love interest written all over him.
Doherty is best known for his roles in Disney’s Descendants, HBO’s Catherine the Great, and Hulu’s High Fidelity.
He’s 25 years old and is from Scotland, making him infinitely more interesting than the rest of the cast. Sorry, guys. The accent.

Adam Chanler-Berat
Another musically trained lad to consider here in the form of Adam Chanler-Berat.
The US actor is best known for his work on Broadway in roles such as Henry in Next to Normal, Boy in Peter and the Starcatcher, and Nino in Amélie.
Serious Chuck Bass vibes off this one, in fairness.

Zion Moreno
Wow, is that Troian Bellisario from Pretty Little Liars being cast in the Gossip Girl reboot?!
No, actually, it’s an actor called Zion Moreno, who just happens to look a lot like Troian in that she has long hair and very clear skin.
American-Mexican Morena began her career as a model when she was 19 years old but eventually quit to became an actor.
The 27 year old has made appearances in a number of recent TV offerings including new Netflix series, Control Z, and Claws.

The Gossip Girl reboot is set to land onto our screens sometime next year.
Production was delayed due to the coronavirus meaning that the cast have yet to start shooting, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to get our XOXO fix.
