Last weekend, I went to London with my girlfriends and made an impromptu trip to see Magic Mike Live at the Hippodrome Casino.
I've written about the show coming to London previously but, being completely honest, it was a long time ago and I actually forgot the show was in town until I landed into the centre of Leicester Square. On arrival, it didn't take me long to spot the bright lights of the venue, all highlighting the muscles of the ripped Magic Mike dancers who flexed on posters coating the building. Obviously, tickets were bought immediately after this encounter.
A girls' night out you'll never forget.
If you've never heard of the Magic Mike Live show, it is loosely based on the film series of the same name starring Channing Tatum. The show is 90 minutes in length and it's an intimate, interactive performance of incredible dancing, divine male dancers and plenty of laughs that'll make you scream for more, trust me.
The show which is actually directed by Channing Tatum (who is also known to sporadically make an appearance to open the show in London, according to my sources), landed in the UK capital in November 2018 coming straight from its Las Vegas residency for the first time ever and it's here to stay until this October, 2019.
The show is led by Samantha Baines, an English actress and comedian who takes away any "seedy" worries you might have about going to see a male dance show. She brings the laughs and the men bring the sex and together it produces a firecracker show that has celebs from Holly Willoughby to Love Island's Amber Davies screaming its praise from the rooftops.
Can you tell we enjoyed the show?
The songs are also all ones you'll know from the charts and the crazy stunts and one very steamy number featuring an indoor pool and "fake rain" will keep your girl squad talking about the show until next year.
Plus, you can record while you're in there (nothing beats a visual reminder, eh?)
Tickets can be purchased online here, but hurry, they book up fast. I'm not lying when I say I'm honestly looking up going again. Yep, THAT good.
