The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially in production
Fans of The Devil Wears Prada are understandably incredibly excited about the sequel.
Rumours about returning to the world of Runway magazine have been circulating for years, but Disney finally confirmed the news this week.
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all confirmed to be returning for the sequel.
Kenneth Branagh has also been added to the cast. The actor will star as Miranda Priestly’s husband in the upcoming film.
However, one actor from the original movie will not be returning, but we don’t think fans will be too disappointed by this one.
Adrian Grenier won’t be returning as Nate Cooper, Andy’s boyfriend.
Many of us will agree that Nate was the true villain of the original The Devil Wears Prada. He was unsupportive, judgmental, and acted like a toddler when Andy missed his birthday.
The actor previously opened up about his character in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
Grenier explained that Nate was an incredibly immature character, but he didn’t realise it at the time.
“It hadn’t occurred to me until I started to really think about it, and perhaps it was because I was as immature as Nate was at the time, and in many ways he’s very selfish and self-involved, it was all about him, he wasn’t extending himself to support Andy in her career.”
“At the end of the day, it’s just a birthday, right? It’s not the end of the world. I might’ve been as immature as him at the time, so I personally couldn’t see his shortcomings. But after time to reflect and much deliberation, I’ve come to realise the truth in that perspective.”
The Devil Wears Prada sequel is due to land on May 1st, 2026.
